Creating oneself is finding oneself

I knew, since I was a child, that I was going to be a writer eventually, and that everything in between would be nothing more than an intermission. For years, I imagined what writing would feel like. I believed it would be the most exhilarating, enchanted, possibility-soaked life a person could live a place where, if you wanted something badly enough, you might actually reach it. A world where I’d be surrounded by the people I longed to know. A world where I could become the only thing that ever truly seemed worth becoming: A writer.

                        And I'd turned out to be right!

 

Today I charged my Nikon and took proper photos, for the first time.
